Technical Officer (Mass Spectrometry)
We are currently seeking candidates with experience in one of the following core areas:

Flow cytometry core

High content screening core
-
Mass spectrometry core
-
Microscopy core
-
Next-generation sequencing core
In addition to providing instrument training to University users and improving automation of the high-throughput data analysis, BioCRF(CWB) also provides contract research services to other educational institutes and the business sector. In addition to supporting current services, the successful candidate is expected to keep pace with technological innovation and provide technical assistance in the area(s) above.
Applicants should possess a bachelor’s or higher degree in biological science, bioinformatics, chemistry, computer sciences, or relevant disciplines, coupled with extensive hands-on experience in the area(s) above. Candidates with less experience but demonstrated potential are welcome to apply and may be considered for appointment as Junior Technical Officer. (Duration: 1 year, renewable)

The appointee will oversee the state-of-the art mass spectrometers including timsTOF Pro, Orbitrap, MALDI-TOF/TOF and other sophisticated scientific instruments with the following responsibilities:

Provide mass spectrometry service in the Omics research, such as Proteomics and Metabolomics;

Perform regular calibration, maintenance of instruments and instruments troubleshooting to ensure proper functioning;

Research specific analytical protocols and keep aware of the latest analytical techniques;

Develop standard operation procedures and provide training sessions to facility users; and
-
Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisors.
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree or above in chemistry, biological sciences or a related field, preferably with practical experience in working with a variety of MS systems. They should be able to communicate effectively in English, complete tasks with aggressive timeline and work independently. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
