Illumina NextSeq 500 Next Generation Sequencer

The NextSeq 550 System is a benchtop high-throughput next generation sequencing (NGS) system, which can perform different sequencing applications such as whole genome sequencing, whole exome sequencing, RNA sequencing, ChIP-sequencing (ChIP-Seq) and whole genome bisulfite sequencing.

The system utilizes the proven reversible-terminator sequencing by synthesis (SBS) technology. Two-channel SBS sequencing is being used in Nextseq 500, in which only 2 images are required to determine four base calls. This allows more efficient data acquisition and shorter sequencing time.
